Pitching Streamers & DFS Plays for Tuesday, September 27th
September 27, 2016 | Justin Bales
Max Scherzer (vs ARI) – Scherzer has been on absolute fire recently, and he has been one of the best pitchers in the MLB this season. Over his last 10 games, he has a 7-1 record with a 2.75 ERA and a 10.5 K/9. He gets a great matchup against the Diamondbacks, who have struggled to score runs on the road this season. Scherzer has also been a better pitcher in Washington this year. He should receive plenty of run support tonight, and Scherzer can be used in all leagues.
Noah Syndergaard (at MIA) – Syndergaard has had his ups and downs this season, but he enters this game with an 13-9 record, 2.63 ERA, and 10.6 K/9 through 30 games. He gets a good matchup against the Marlins, who have struggled offensively at times this season. Syndergaard has dominated them in two meetings this season, and he’s a -158 favorite in a game set at 7.5 runs tonight. He does come with a bit of risk, and he’s best suited for tournaments on this slate.

Jose De Leon (at SD) – De Leon has flashed upside in his limited starts, but he has also struggled quite a bit early in his career. He has displayed elite strikeout potential, but he has also give up at least two earned runs in each of his first three starts. He gets a great matchup against the Padres in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB this season. De Leon is a -148 favorite in a game set at 8 runs, and he’s available in 73% of leagues on Yahoo. He’s a high risk, high reward streaming option tonight.
Adam Wainwright (vs CIN) – Wainwright has struggled for most of the season, but he has looked outstanding at home. Through 14 home starts, he has a 6-4 record with a 2.92 ERA and a 7.0 K/9. Even though he doesn’t have an elite strikeout rate, he does come with decent upside. He gets a great matchup against the Reds, who have struggled outside of Cincinnati this season. He’s a huge -215 favorite in a game set at 8.5 runs. He does come with a bit of risk, but he’s available in 22% of leagues on Yahoo, and he’s a great option tonight.
Matt Moore (vs COL) – Moore has looked awful over his last 10 games, and he has struggled quite a bit this season. He has flashed elite upside, though. He gets a good matchup against the Rockies, who have struggled outside of Coors this season. Moore is is a -192 favorite in a game set at 8 runs, and he is available in 49% of leagues on Yahoo. He’s as boom or bust as any pitcher on this slate, and he’s a solid tournament option tonight.
