As always the Streamers are listed in the order in which I would use them
Jake Odorizzi has been solid this season and will face the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Saturday. Although he’s been more impressive pitching at home this year he’s been effective on the road in his last 3 turns and I’m willing to give him a shot against the Cubs. Born in Highland, Illinois Jake will likely be pitching in front of his friends and family and that goes a long way. More importantly he will be pitching against a Cubs offense that has scored the 23rd most runs in all of baseball. Although Jake only had 1 K in his last start (he pitched only 3 innings) he has 130 K’s on the season in only 116 and two-thirds innings pitched. Available in 62% of Yahoo leagues I’d stream Jake in 10 team leagues or larger and play in all DFS formats where he’s nice and cheap.
James Paxton is finally healthy and pitching again for the Mariners and on Saturday he will take on the White Sox in the pitcher friendly confines of Safeco Field in Seattle. While the White Sox are a strong offense and not normally a good target when streaming they are not nearly as dangerous against LHP and Paxton happens to be left handed. Throw in the fact that the Mariners are putting runs on the board these days and Paxton has tremendous strikeout potential and you have the ingredients for a solid SP Streamer. Available in 70% of Yahoo leagues Paxton should be streamed in 10 team leagues or larger and will be a solid cheap option in DFS formats as well. Get in where you fit in fake gamers.
Brandon McCarthy has been fortunate with the Yankees, and that is better than being excellent and unlucky, like he was with the Diamondbacks. Since joining the Yankees he is 4-0 in 5 starts and has 4 QS in that time as well. Now that the baseball gods are shining on him it’s time to get him into your starting lineup. Available in 67% of Yahoo leagues he’s out there for two-thirds of you and should be streamed in 10 team leagues and larger. Just be aware that Corey Kluber is the opposing pitcher, so a loss is definitely a possibility. In DFS formats McCarthy is a decent option if the price is low, although there are several better options going on Saturday IMO.
Ubaldo Jimenez returns from the DL to face the Cardinals at home on Saturday. While he’s a bit of a Hail-Mary as a Streamer he will be facing one of the weakest offenses in the league and Ubaldo also has a solid history pitching against the Cardinals over the course of his career. In 54 innings he’s managed a 3.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a batting average against of .236. Available in 74% of yahoo leagues Ubaldo is worth a shot if you’re in a 15 team league or larger. As always he should be a decent source of K’s even if he’s hit up a bit, and it’s always nice to fall back on some K’s.
Scott Feldman has been great his last 2 turns and those were against the mighty offenses of the Athletics and the Blue Jays. On Saturday he’ll face the light hitting Rangers at home in Minute Maid Park. While Scott hasn’t been particularly good at home this season or against the Rangers over the course of his career, we’re running out of options on a day where 13 of the SP’s going are owned in 74% of Yahoo leagues or more. Available in 91% of leagues Feldman is a SP with a pulse and might even pull off a QS against a weakened Rangers offense. Unless you’re totally desperate I would stay away from him in all but the deepest of leagues.
