There are many different views on stacking, such as do I use a 6-1-1 stack, a 4-2-2 stack, or even do I not stack at all? I personally am a strong believer in stacking, and will be going over three potential 4- and 6-man stacks for today’s games.

Top Stack

San Diego Padres – The Padres haven’t been playing well this series, but they get the pitching advantage tonight. They’ll take on Kyle Kendrick, who has recorded a 1.83 WHIP, .355 opponent batting average, and 6.91 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed 13 runs on 20 hits (5 home runs) in only 17 innings against the Padres this season. The Padres have really been struggling over the last week, but you can never count a team out when they’re playing in Coors. They are a slightly more powerful team against right-handed pitching as well. The cherry on top is that they are -126 favorites in a game set at 11 runs, which is 2 full runs higher than any other games projections. Both of these teams make great GPP options today.

4-Man Stack – Wil Myers, Yangervis Solarte, Matt Kemp, Justin Upton

6-Man Stack – Wil Myers, Yangervis Solarte, Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, Jedd Gyorko, Cory Spangenberg

Mid-Stack

Toronto Blue Jays – The Blue Jays are a stack that is always in play, but they’re at their best when they are facing a left-handed pitcher in Toronto. That will be the case today, as they face off against Rich Hill. Hill has only thrown in one game this season, in which he allowed only one hit over seven innings. That outcome likely will not be the case today, as he has a 4.65 career ERA in the MLB. The Blue Jays have a 1.49 HR/9 at home this season, and they also have a .277 batting average and .463 slugging percentage against left-handed pitching. They have been playing well over the last week with a .257 batting average, 28 extra-base hits, and 47 runs. They are also -190 favorites in a game set at 9 runs, and they can be used in all leagues today.

4-Man Stack – Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, Russell Martin

6-Man Stack – Ben Revere, Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, Russell Martin, Chris Colabello

Contrarian Stack

Tampa Bay Rays – This stack will be contrarian based off the Vegas line, as this game is set at 7 runs, but I have also seen sites that have it set at 5 runs. That line surprises me, as Kevin Gausman is taking the mound for the Orioles, and the Rays are only -115 favorites. Gausman has really struggled on the road this season, recording a 1.40 WHIP, .280 opponent batting average, and 5.81 ERA in 12 starts. He has also allowed 6 runs on 9 hits (3 home runs) in 4.1 innings against the Rays this season as well. Those 4.1 innings came in 2 separate games, which means this one could be a quick outing for Gausman. The Rays haven’t been hitting all that well over the last week, but they do have some quality batting throughout their lineup, and they make a good GPP stacking option today.

4-Man Stack – John Jaso, Evan Longoria, Logan Forsythe, Steve Souza

6-Man Stack – John Jaso, Brandon Guyer, Evan Longoria, Logan Forsythe, James Loney, Steve Souza
