FANDUEL LINEUP BREAKDOWN

Disclaimer: First make sure all of the players chosen here are active, as the lineups are done well in advance. Some players chosen may not have been mentioned on the main cheat sheet, but will usually follow a similar strategy of facing a weak pitcher who is worse against either lefties or righties. Make your own judgement calls as well. If you notice one of the players here are sitting and a bench player is getting a start and is hitting near the top of the order, then by all means take a chance and save some salary.

Early Only

Don’t have to worry about Kershaw in the early lineups, so I am going to go with Lester today. He has high strikeout ability, and he still allows me to fit in some studs around him. The Giants bats are really cheap today and are in a solid spot against Hand. Andrus and La Stella are true value plays today up the middle, while Jackson I am actually high on today. Martinez and Freeman are my higher priced guys I am targeting.

All Day 1

Kershaw on Sunday Night Baseball is probably going to twirl a gem for the world to see, so have to consider him tonight, even with the price tag. I am sticking with all my cheaper plays today and going subtle value across the board, I did not want to dig deep and play higher risk guys. This one is a lot different from the late only lineup with Kershaw; I really had to dig deep for value in just a 4 game slate.

All Day 2

This can also be an early only lineup if you drop Gordon down and just put Alex Wood in. Wood has a solid matchup as well. Wheeler has a great matchup with the Padres, and he is still pretty cheap. He allows me to fit Stanton and Cabrera in. I am adding a little more star power into this lineup instead of going Freeman and Martinez like earlier. Jackson and Suarez are solid plays with Detroit going up against Tomlin. It is a solid lineup across the board with only one real hopeful play in Suarez.

Late Only

With only a 4 game slate in some lower scoring games on the table, these contests will be low scoring. It is best to play the safe bet and go Kershaw and hopefully a few value plays go off. Collmenter is probably the weakest pitcher in the late slate, so I will go with value Cubs. Gonzalez and Crawford both have a solid price and have that matchup with Martinez. Those are safer plays. Cespedes and Vogt are some quality players who have the potential to go off, even if it is against Gausman. Goebbert is just a lefty punt play against the righty Wheeler.

The chart above allows you to see the pitcher’s record, ERA and his team’s bullpen WHIP. Then as you follow the row to the right you will see the park factors for HRs for righty/lefties (the higher the easier it is for them to hit HRs), then we get into the opposing team’s wOBA, either against lefty/righty or home/away. I’ve highlighted the appropriate wOBA numbers depending on if the pitcher is a righty/lefty or they are home/away. We then go to the opposing team’s wOBA over the last two weeks to see how they have been hitting lately, then how often the opposing team strikes out, then their runs per game and then the vegas odds and the weather forecast. This chart should help you find pitchers who have good matchups and hitters who have the same.

BvP, L/R Splits, H/A Splits, Fan Duel Points

To best utilize the sortable stats, sort using the search box. Here are some examples.

Example: Enter “SS” in the search box and you will see all the shortstops playing today. Then you can sort just the splits for shortstops.

Example: Enter “OF * ” if you want to see all the OFs and their stats just for the matchup they have, H/L, H/A.

Example: Enter “BOS@CWS” and you will see just the players in that game and their splits.

Example: Enter “Jose Bautista” and see just his splits.

Remember, the “*” denotes if a player is at Home, Away or is facing a Lefty or Righty. Let’s take Jason Heyward as an example. Below I have typed “Jason Heyward ” into the search box for the Hitter Lefty/Righty Splits. You can see that he hits righties at a much better rate than he does lefties and the asterisk denotes that he is facing a righty in this example, so he is worth looking into.

We then check to see who he is facing and how he’s done against them in the past by going to the Batter vs. Pitcher stats and inputting his name. This shows he faces lefty A.J. Burnett and that he’s hit him well in a small sample size.

I then like to see how well a pitcher does against lefty/righties and home/away. Getting a player that hits the splits well and is facing a pitcher that pitches to the hitters splits and also if the hitter has been hitting well recently, is a great way to to find viable plays for that day.
