Already a series under our belt here in the 2nd half. Bryce Harper, Matt Holliday, and Giancarlo Stanton are some notables who have had great games since coming back. Mainly Holliday and Harper have been underperforming, so it is nice to see them hitting the ball. With a doubleheader yesterday, keep an eye on the Tigers/Indians lineup, someone could be in for a rest day, and yes even after a break. Weather looks in good shape today, but keep an eye on later games with those summer storms popping up. Troy Tulowitzki, Alex Rios, and Yasiel Puig all left with injuries, but nothing serious. Keep an eye on them if you plan on using them.
Clayton Kershaw $12,100 – Kershaw on Sunday Night Baseball against a team he just held scoreless and struck out 13 against, yes please. Kershaw could face the AL All-Stars and I would pay this price for him. He has a crazy 56 GB% and 34 K% this season, and is the best pitcher in all the land. Lock him in a lineup today.
Zack Wheeler $7200 – Wheeler gets the Padres today, and he is a solid price for the line he could put up against the league’s worst offense. Wheeler has a 54 GB% and a 8.7 K/9 this season. I expect a good line against this team who has a .274 wOBA and a 22% strikeout rate against RHP.
Freddie Freeman $4000 – Freeman should tee off on Kyle Kendrick today; he has allowed a .389 wOBA with a 25 LD% to LHB this season. Freeman has been a solid bat this year with a, .381 wOBA and 145 wRC+ against RHP. This guy hits everything solid with a 31 LD% against pitching this year.
Dee Gordon $3400 – Gordon gets another good matchup today against Carlos Martinez, who has allowed a .380 wOBA to LHB in his career. Joe Kelly struggled vs. LHB too, and Gordon jumped on that matchup with a 3 hit game, including a double and SB. No Yadier Molina behind the dish means Gordon runs wild when is on.
J.D. Martinez $4300 – Josh Tomlin has allowed a .351 wOBA and 26 LD% to RHB this season. Tigers offense should be in for a big day at home. Martinez has mashed RHP this year, with a .487 wOBA and .328 ISO. I am not sure where this came from, but hey I am not complaining unless he plays the Red Sox.
Yan Gomes $2900 – Gomes has a .377 wOBA against LHP this season, and Drew Smyly has not done the job against RHB, allowing a .395 wOBA. Gomes is a great play today with a price tag that doesn’t hold you down.
