It’s already August?! Where has the time gone?!? Well, it’s Friday so what better way to celebrate the start of the weekend than with some fantasy baseball! Let’s take a dip into the forecast.
Chris Sale – The best pitcher throwing tonight, no doubt about it. Sale just dominated this Twins club on Saturday. He does have a hefty price tag, but he’s very much worth it.
Justin Verlander – Okay, we know he’s been less than stellar this year but hear me out. 1. He gets a Colorado team that’s not nearly as deadly away from Coors. 2. He knows he’s gotta prove himself with Price on his way over. He’s gotta tell Kate Upton, “Hey Kate, we can’t be buying puppies and stuff right now! I gotta establish my dominance!” Then he’s gotta storm out. Justin, if you’re reading this…. You’re welcome for the advice.
Dan Haren – The Cubs strike out close to 22% of the time. Good for Haren. Even better, Haren has struck out the players on this current roster close to 28% of the time.
Miguel Montero – Matchup against Edinson Volquez is great for Montero. The clean up hitter in the Arizona lineup will do just that. Clean up.
Miguel Cabrera – I really hope Franklin Morales ate his vitamins and said his prayers because it’s going to be a long night.
Daniel Murphy – Murph is 4-for-8 lifetime against Vogelsong.
Manny Machado – Machado continues to play like a man possessed this 2nd half of the season. I think the matchup against Roenis Elias is a favorable one.
Asdrubal Cabrera – Have you ever gone into your first day at a new job and wanted to impress everyone? That’s gonna be Asdrubal today. Also I think he’ll do well against Roberto Hernandez.
Bryce Harper – Harper will see the impression his new teammate will be putting on and get jealous. Bryce won’t get mad though, he’ll get even. Poor Roberto Hernandez has to be the one to take all this punishment. 🙁
Josh Reddick – Reddick has done well against Jeremy Guthrie in the past (lifetime .316 avg)
Andrew McCutchen – He gets Vidal Nuno tonight and if that isn’t enough to sell you, I don’t know what is.
