More weather concerns shroud Tuesday’s games in the northeast, so keep that in mind. My suggestions below do not factor in possible rainouts.
Tim Lincecum (RHP), SF $8,700 vs LAD
I’m a little disappointed his price is this high, but I’m confident Lincecum can be relied on for strikeouts. A win or going deep into the game would be icing. Critics will point to his 9.90 ERA spanning 10 innings. Well, if you want to look closer at that short sample, he’s sporting a 12:1 K/BB ratio.
Cliff Lee (LHP), PHI $10,200 vs ATL
I’m going with Lee for pure reliability and at a fair price. Also, outside of Justin Upton, no Braves’ hitter is particularly fearsome to left-handed pitching.
Bonus GPP suggestions:
Brandon Morrow, Yordano Ventura
Shin-soo Choo, TEX $4,800 (OF) vs SEA (Beavan)
Blake Beavan struggles against left-handed batting (.365 wOBA since 2011). Seeing him on the mound in a hitter’s park should have you lining up all the lefties you can afford. Choo is the best of the bunch for the Rangers, perhaps if only because he’ll get the most at-bats from the leadoff spot.
Matt Joyce, TB $3,400 (OF) at BAL (Gonzalez)
A few things are in our favor with Joyce today. Camden Yards boosts left-handed home runs by 29% since 2011. Gonzalez is a flyball pitcher, and he also has trouble striking out hitters. Joyce’s price tag is too low to ignore with these factors working for us.
Daniel Murphy, NYM $4,100 (2B) at ARI (Arroyo)
Second base might be a popular position to punt today at Draftkings. But if you’ve got money to spend, put it towards Murphy. Arroyo struggles against lefties, and while Murphy’s career .339 wOBA against RHP isn’t earth-shattering, he deserves a bump today with the game in Arizona and its hitter-friendly stadium.
Mike Zunino, SEA $2,800 (C) at TEX (Ross)
I’m not one to ride hot hitters, as this is more of a play against Ross combined with the right-lefty matchup. But hey, Zunino has a pair of homers in his past three starts. Hot hand city.
Domonic Brown, PHI $3,500 (OF) vs ATL (Hale)
Brown isn’t one of my favorite hitters, but at home against a young, struggling pitcher in Hale, I’m in at this affordable price.
