The DFS Daily Dozen 4.21.15
April 21, 2015 | Marcus Hall
Welcome to Tuesday’s edition of the Daily Dozen. We’ve got a full 15 games on the schedule tonight and of course it can always be quite the task to get a roster you like of 9-10 guys. That’s why I’m here, to hopefully steer you in the right direction a bit. As usual, you can find me on Twitter: @_MHa11 if you have any questions. Without any further delay, let’s get to the dozen!
Brandon Morrow – Through two starts this season, Morrow has done quite well for himself. All he’s missing is a win. Now, I know he’s pitching at Coors Field tonight. Hear me out though. I think this is a warranted walk on the wild side, especially after San Diego scored 14 runs just a night ago. I think the run support plus the pitching performance of Morrow will make him quite the sleeper tonight.
Francisco Liriano – If you don’t like taking a walk on the wild side (don’t blame ya, it’s not for everyone.) Go with Liriano. He gets a Cubs lineup that struck out about 25% against LHP last year and Liriano is currently working with a 9.7 K/9 rate. He’ll be matched up against a pretty good pitcher, but I think Liriano does more than enough to get the W.
Carlos Carrasco – Last time Carrasco faced the White Sox, it was an unfortunately quick ending as he took a Melky Cabrera liner to the jaw. He’s getting the start against the White Sox tonight and I think he’ll make up for the previous start.
Caleb Joseph – Love me some Orioles against a LHP.
Adam Lind – Lind has hit RHP well in his career and has a great matchup against Jason Marquis in a great ballpark for hitters tonight.
Howie Kendrick – Howie’s on a 3-game hitting streak where he’s 6-for-12 with 3 doubles and 2 homers. Looks like the cleanup spot fits him just fine. We’ll add his .431 OBP on for good measure.
Aramis Ramirez – I know picking more than one Brewer is a big crazy but hear me out. I don’t think very many people will be on Milwaukee tonight. They still have bats that can get busy, ESPECIALLY at home and ESPECIALLY against Jason Marquis. Aramis has hit Marquis for a .370 batting average with 9 RBI in his career. There are worse gambles you can take tonight.
Elvis Andrus – Eh, I like the matchup.
Wil Myers – I had to have at least one pick from tonight’s Padres/Rockies game. Righties hit .294 off of Tyler Matzek in his career.
Adam Jones – The hungriest man in baseball is probably a must-start right now. Especially when he’s facing a lefty like he is tonight.
David Peralta – Peralta’s got a pretty .376 wOBA against RHP and his price is still pretty friendly across the industry. I’m not scared of Nick Martinez and his 0.00 ERA.
Salvador Perez – Perez is another one of those guys that needs heavy consideration when he’s facing a lefty. He should give Tommy Milone a run for his money tonight.
